Coburn, Hal

Class of 2024

Hal Coburn, born in Saint Anthony, Idaho, has made significant contributions to rodeo as an announcer. After relocating from California to Garden Valley, Idaho, Hal began his announcing career in 1989 with 4-H play days and junior rodeos. His passion for the sport quickly expanded to include high school rodeos, ICA events, team roping’s, and horse expos.

Hal’s career flourished as he teamed up with horse trainer Chris Cox, announcing at Cox’s seminars across several states. Now based in Meridian, Idaho, Hal continues to announce and photograph prominent rodeo events, including the Snake River Stampede and Caldwell Night Rodeo. His enduring commitment to the rodeo community and his role in celebrating rodeo athletes make him a deserving inductee into the Idaho Rodeo Hall of Fame.
