Daniel, Helen

Class of 2021

Helen was one of the originators of the Snake River Stampede parade. Helen was a jockey for the stock saddle races and was leading jockey for Sage Acres. She was active all of her life with horses, with her Children and competing into her 70’s. Raising both Skip and Peggy to become Champions. Her daughter Peggy Reiter qualified for the NFR as a Barrel Racer and Skip Daniel is being inducted into the 2021 class of the Idaho Rodeo Hall of Fame. Helen retired when her little horse “Reb” died of cancer.

Her biggest family for most of her life was the Idaho Girls Rodeo Association. She was active and supportive until her passing at age 80. Helen was a top competitor in barrel racing and pole bending events when most would have been sitting in their rocking chairs.

Helen received many awards for her art and horsemanship. She was a mentor to many young people in the sport of Rodeo.
