Hayes, Robin

Class of 2024

Robin Hayes has made a profound impact on the rodeo community through her unwavering dedication and passion. Raised in Oakdale, California, the heart of cowboy culture, Robin’s rodeo journey began in her teens, where she honed her skills in team roping under the mentorship of local rodeo greats like Dr. Lane Falk.
Her collegiate rodeo career at Modesto Junior College and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo was marked by significant accomplishments in barrel racing, goat tying, and breakaway roping. Robin’s commitment went beyond competing; she was an active volunteer and organizer for events such as the Holly Royale Rodeo, demonstrating her leadership and support for the rodeo community.

Robin’s connection to Idaho was solidified in the late 60s and early 70s when she became actively involved in the Gem State Rodeo Association and the Idaho Girls Rodeo Association. Her participation in these prestigious Idaho rodeo organizations highlighted her dedication to the sport and her integration into the local rodeo scene. Her involvement with the Idaho Girls Rodeo Association, in particular, reflected her commitment to supporting young female rodeo competitors and fostering their growth.

After relocating to Idaho in 1982, Robin continued to champion the rodeo community, supporting her family’s equine practice and nurturing the next generation of rodeo stars. She played a key role in founding the “Got Milk Junior Rodeo Series,” which provided valuable opportunities for young rodeo athletes.
Robin Hayes’s lifetime of achievements, from her competitive successes and volunteer work to her significant contributions to the Gem State Rodeo Association and the Idaho Girls Rodeo Association, makes her a deserving and exemplary candidate for Induction into the Idaho Rodeo Hall of Fame.
