Eddie Heath: Rodeo Icon and Community Leader

Eddie Heath, born in Emmett, Idaho, grew up immersed in the world of rodeo. His father, Harold "Curly" Heath, a renowned clown and bullfighter, sparked Eddie's passion for the sport from a young age. Eddie and his family actively supported Curly's rodeo performances, assisting with clown acts and animal preparation.

Eddie's own rodeo journey began by riding calves and steers at his father's rodeos. In high school, he excelled in bull riding, bronc riding, and calf roping, earning points in the All-Around category. In 1958, Eddie joined his father in the arena as a clown and bullfighter. Together, they traveled extensively throughout the Northwest, performing at up to 30 rodeos annually. Their professionalism and skill made them highly sought after, often performing at multiple events in a single weekend.

As Curly retired from the road, Eddie and his brother Jimmy continued the family legacy, fulfilling rodeo contracts and maintaining a high standard of performance. Eddie balanced his roles as a bull rider and clown, consistently ranking at the top despite limited rodeo entries due to contractual obligations.
Deeply involved in the Emmett community, Eddie dedicated his time to service organizations like the Jaycees and Gem County Chamber of Commerce, serving as president for both. He co-founded Youth Incorporated, an annual fundraiser benefiting Emmett's youth since the early 1970s.

Eddie's contributions to rodeo and his community have earned him a place in the Idaho Rodeo Hall of Fame, a testament to his enduring impact and legacy.
